Cookie

I took the Boy to cub scouts last week. Normally it's Ken's job to do that but he wasn't feeling well. He opted to stay home with the girls which I thought would be much harder. On the drive there the Boy and I got to do some thing we don't get to do a lot of and that is talk.

There are so many times as we're driving and the girls are screaming, that he's trying to talk to me. I can't take it because I'm stressed out about needing to go where ever it is we need to go, doing what ever it is with three kids, the crying girls, and trying to keep everyone safe while driving in So Cal. I can't have a conversation on top of that and use my brain for one more thing. I have limitations (many in fact).

We talked all the way to cub scouts. He had some great ideas on how to use our new white board. At scouts I sat back and watched. He had a lot of fun. It was great being able to focus on just him. At the end they had a snack for the kids. It was a cookie with frosting. Nehemiah had me keep an eye on his snack and he walked away. He went over and asked if he could get a cookie for his mom.

It was so neat that he thought of me. It brought me so much joy that he did that for me. I loved spending that time with him.
